The Herreshoff H28 design boasts an exceptional reputation for their impressive sailing ability in even the most challenging conditions. This stunning vessel is an excellent example of the design and has been superbly maintained through out its life. With an extra 3" of free-board added to the original plans, it boasts excellent headroom throughout. The generous bowsprit and powerful cutter rig also allowed for a more spacious cockpit design, making the vessel a joy to sail with friends and family. Built over 3 years by renowned Launceston (TAS) timber boat builder Cecil Cartlidge, the First Grade Huon Pine was sourced from Strahan on Tasmania's Westcoast. Carvel planed over Huon Pine frames, and air dried Tasmanian Oak deck beams, the quality of the build is second to none! With the full length traditional keel providing excellent stability, this much loved vessel has been cruised locally as well as being a regular competitor in local twilight racing. In recent years it has received many upgrades including a NEW HP NANNI DIESEL ENGINE WITH ONLY 105HRS ON THE CLOCK! Having been ANTIFOULED, TOPSIDES REPAINTED, AND BRIGHTWORK VARNISHED IN JAN 2023, the vessel presents in exceptional condition, ready to delight its next custodian!

Stepping inside, the charming interior is a great mix of stunning varnished Huon Pine, and clean white finishes. There is a central folding leaf dinette, with seating for 6 in comfort on the NEW 2021 settees. The functional galley is to port, and is well equipped with a two burner metho stove, stainless steel sink with fresh water, large icebox opposite, and plenty of storage for weekends away. The accommodation is excellent with a generous double v-berth forward with closing door, two single settee berths, and a single quarter berth aft. The package is complete with a marine toilet in the forepeak.

On deck, the spacious cockpit is well set up for for cruising, casual racing, or just relaxing in your favourite anchorage. With the mainsheet and primary winches in easy reach of the helm, the vessel is easily sailed shorthanded.

This vessel is powered by the NEW 2014 Nanni 21HP Diesel Engine with only 105hrs on the clock. This provides easy and economical cruising at 5 knots. There is excellent access to the engine beneath the companionway steps for hassle free servicing.

With its stunning traditional aesthetics, exceptional build quality, and impressive sailing performance, this classic Tasmanian Huon Pine yacht ticks all the boxes! For more information please call Jo Breen on or John Radonic on .
